Erie Axe Throwing is the first facility of its kind in Erie, PA located inside Quaker Steak & Lube! At Erie Axe Throwing, guests can master the art of axe throwing, an activity that has been growing in popularity across America. Guests can sharpen their throwing technique with one of the legendary Axe Masters before splitting their group into teams and aiming for their highest score in the side-by-side competition.

In between rounds, guests can enjoy great food from Quaker Steak & Lube with lane-side service, including their famous hot wings, the legendary LubeBurger or any of the fan-favorite steaks and sandwiches. At the end of a game, guests can toast the winning team with food & beverages from Quaker Steak & Lube.

Challenge your friends or family to a thrilling showdown at Erie Axe Throwing in Erie, Pa! After a few minutes of technical training with our Axe Masters, you’ll be splitting the bullseye in a variety of fun games. Enjoy delicious food and drinks from the Erie Axe Throwing Bar.

STEP 1: GATHER YOUR CREW! The throwing lanes at Erie Axe Throwing can accommodate groups in size from 2 to 6. Don't forget, participants must be 14 years of age (with adult supervision) or older. 

STEP 2: RESERVE YOUR LANES! Reservations are suggested at Erie Axe Throwing, but walk-ins are welcomed. Now would also be a great time to review our axe rules.

STEP 3: COME ON IN! When you arrive, you'll be greeted by one of our legendary Axe Masters. They'll show you the basics of Axe Throwing, then get you set up on a lane. 

STEP 4: READY, AIM, AXE! Take a few rounds to get used to Axe Throwing, then challenge your friends to a variety of games and challenges.

  • All participants must be 14 years of age (with adult supervision) or older. 

  • You will not be permitted to participate in Axe Throwing if you are deemed too intoxicated. ​

  • Appropriate footwear is required. No flip flops, sandals or open-toe shoes.​

  • No excessively loose clothing which may obstruct a thrower's movement or vision while throwing an axe is permitted.​

  • Do not engage in any behavior which would endanger the health, safety or well-being of any player, staff member or spectator. Demonstrate good sportsmanship & listen to your Axe Master.​

  • Respect the Axe - No horseplay with the axes will be tolerated, and axes must remain in the throwing lanes. Do not bring your own axes.

  • Participants must receive full instruction and demonstration from an Axe Master before touching an axe.​

  • Axes may be thrown no closer than 12 feet and no further than 16 feet from the target.​

  • Axes may only be thrown by holding the handle, never by holding the blade. Axes are not to be handed to another participant between throws, always place axe in the designated area and allow next thrower to pick it up. When removing an axe from the target, a thrower should place both hands on the handle to prevent injury. ​

  • No participant may be within 3 feet of another participant when throwing an axe. Only two active throwers may be inside the pit at any time. Throwers with a combined lane must throw axes one-at-a-time, then retrieve their axes at the same time.​

  • Axes may be thrown in a vertical orientation, raising the axe above the head and releasing forward. "Side-Arm" style throwing is prohibited. Participants must face the target when throwing, no backward throwing. ​

  • Axes should only complete approximately one rotation when thrown. ​

  • If at any time a participant or thrower feels that conditions have become unsafe, it must be reported to an Axe Master or staff member immediately.
